After starting my career as a newspaper reporter and editor for five years, I joined a software company as a writer and game designer (Dragon’s Lair). Having left an industry where everyone always delivered product on schedule, I was stunned to discover I had joined one where that never seemed to happen.
I moved from the creative side to production and was unusually successful in delivering my products on schedule. As they did not always sell well (What is the point of delivering on time and within budget a product no one wants?), I looked for a better way to do things and found that in Agile.
I also studied Agile as broadly as I could, gaining certifications from the Scrum Alliance, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®), Large Scale Scrum (LeSS), Scrum@Scale, and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
